KB7BY Las Vegas ATV Repeater

Live Picture Captured From The ATV Repeater
The HXO ATV Repeater is located at High Potosi in the Las Vegas Repeater Association's building. The repeater has FM inputs on 434 Mhz (AM) Vert and 2441.50 MHz (FM) Vert. It features FM outputs on 912 Mhz (FM) Vert.
The repeater controller is homebrew and was built by Geoff Gomes, KB7BY. It supports a link to Southern California as well as a remote-controlled surveillance camera capable of seeing sights in Las Vegas from an altitude of 8,500 feet and range of 20 miles.
While the Las Vegas Repeater Association provides rack and tower space, it does not financially support the repeater. From time to time local users of the open repeater are called on to donate cash or equipment to the project. A new 1.2 GHz Omni was recently acquired at a cost of over $500. The following individuals contributed to the purchase:
| Bob Ashley | KD7B |
| Bruce Pennington | K7EH |
| Craig Brunson | N7TSZ |
| Geoff Gomes | KB7BY |
| Jason Snyder | WV3V |
| Ken Lunning | KC7DEN |
| Kent Johnson | W7AOR |
| Lyle Bell | AA7AU |
| Ralph Decker | N7TND |
| Tony Doss | W7EWC |

N7ZEV ATV Mobile
These pictures show Frank's ATV mobile setup. It is capable of receiving 434 local
transmissions, up linking them to the 900 MHz FM input on the HXO High Potosi ATV
Repeater, and monitoring the output on both the AM and FM 1.2 GHz outputs. In the 1997
Baker-to-Vegas foot relay race Frank and Ralph (N7TND) received local transmissions from
checkpoint 20 and the finish line, and relayed them to the 900 MHz input.
